What we do

Our Facebook group was initially created as a way for neighbors to share ideas and news and to support community events. Over the years, we have grown into a IRS recognized 501c3 charity. We host a phenomenal Farmers Market from May to October, we have helped find/re-unite over 3000 animals, we host a vigilant Neighborhood Watch program, we celebrate our greenways and blueways, we educate and support our community via our Cares and Hip Eats programs, we spotlight our local businesses by holding HIP Donelson Supports Local events, and we continuously support Donelson-based businesses.

In 2020, we officially voted to put a meaning to the word Hip. While lots of ideas were discussed, the unanimous winner was Helping Inspire People…that’s the root of who we are and what we do. That began the change from Hip Donelson to HIP Donelson. A small change when looking at it, but the meaning was momentous and has created a movement for us to challenge one another to live up to our name.

How we do it

We raise funds from vendor fees at our Farmers Market and sales of t-shirts and other promotional items, sponsored by local businesses. All proceeds are invested back into our community.

We love our community, its people, its businesses, and its pets.
